Who we are

Made for Tea is run by Made for Tea, Suffolk. You can reach us at hello@madefortea.co.uk.

We are the controller of the personal information described here.

What we collect

• From you when you order: your name and email address, the recipient's name and delivery address, the words for the board and note card, your chosen delivery date and what you bought.
• Payment: you pay on a page run by Stripe. We never see or store your card details; Stripe tells us whether the payment went through.
• In your browser: your basket and checkout details are kept in your own browser's storage so they survive a page refresh. They stay on your device.
• Server logs: our hosting keeps short-lived technical logs, including IP addresses, to keep the site running and secure.

We use no advertising or analytics cookies. The only cookies we set are strictly necessary: one that remembers you entered the preview password before launch, and one that keeps our own staff signed in to the back office.

Why we use it

• To make, post and support your order, and email you the confirmation and tracking. This is needed to carry out our contract with you.
• To keep accounts and tax records, which the law requires.
• To prevent fraud and keep the site secure, which is in our legitimate interests.

We only use the recipient's details to deliver the gift. We will not send you or them marketing emails unless you ask us to.

Who we share it with

• Stripe, to take payment.
• Google Cloud, which hosts the site and stores orders, in Belgium.
• Resend, which sends our order emails. Resend is based in the United States; the transfer is covered by the UK's data bridge and standard contractual safeguards.
• The delivery company, which receives the recipient's name and address to deliver the box.

We never sell personal information.

How long we keep it

We keep order records for six years after the end of the financial year the order was in, because HMRC requires it, and then delete them. If you email us, we keep the conversation for as long as it is useful for your order.

Your rights

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to how we use it, or get a copy to take elsewhere. Email hello@madefortea.co.uk and we will reply within a month. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
